Dirty Diamonds Still Shine
I know, I know, from the title this sounds like a really bad jewelry store, but, stay with me for a sec. I promise this’ll be good. I’m sitting here on campus staring at the computer asking God what it is I should write about. (I legitimately have about 20 minutes, so I’ll try to make this quick) That’s when I was given a vision. No, seriously, I have an entirely new outlook on That’s So Raven. In all seriousness, God showed me a vision of a diamond. It was on the ground, covered in dirt. The Holy Spirit immediately gave revelation. The diamond was covered in dirt, but, never lost its value. I say all that to say, sometimes life can deal us horrific blows. We get knocked down, sometimes of our own making, but, yet we don’t lose our value. We are all extremely valuable in the sight of God. No matter how far we’ve fallen, how dirty WE think we are, God sees you as a rare jewel equipped for use. I’ll be the first to tell you, there are many days, today even, that I tend to feel like that diamond. Dirty, Corroded, Damaged. There are plenty of days when I feel so unworthy of the calling that God has placed upon my life. I sit in the mirror and try to figure out how He, the omnipotent God, called me, regular me. Then I realize, I’m nothing in and of myself. Yes, I am that dirty diamond shining on the ground, not being used without God. See, God is the perfect jeweler. He finds diamonds that are dirty, who feel worthless and broken. He picks us out of billions, wipes us, cleans us, and sets us to be used for His glory. I am not perfect. None of us are. Daily I try to repent of my sin, allowing God to cleanse my dirt and make me the diamond I am called to be. Is it easy? No, but, it’s possible. For all things are possible with God. Matthew 19:26
